A German Kitchen for a New Jersey Home

After purchasing their new home in NewJersey, Raj and his family began thinking about how they wanted the house to feel.
The existing kitchen was functional and well maintained, but it belonged to a different era. Rather than renovating because they had to, they saw an opportunity to create a space that reflected how they live today—open, welcoming, and designed around everyday family life. Finding the Right Direction

Like many homeowners, Raj had collected ideas long before reaching out to a kitchen designer. He knew the overall aesthetic he was drawn to, but translating inspiration int o a kitchen that would work for his home required collaboration.
Our first conversation focused on understanding the family, their routines, the appliances they planned to use, the materials they were considering, and the investment they wanted to make. Using measurements provided by Raj, we developed an initial design that became the starting point for the project.

Once the overall direction had been established, one of our kitchen specialists visited the home to take detailed site measurements. From that point forward, every revision reflected the home’s exact dimensions and the specifications of each appliance.

Seeing the Design Take Shape

One of the advantages of designing digitally is being able to experience the kitchen before it exists.

Throughout the process, photorealistic renderings helped the family compare materials, proportions and lighting, making decisions easier as the design became more refined.

Bringing the Design Home

With manufacturing complete in Germany, the kitchen made its journey across the Atlantic to New Jersey, where the project entered its final stage: installation.

Because every cabinet had been designed around verified site measurements, the installation followed the approved plans with minimal need for on-site adjustments.

For Raj, seeing the drawings become a real kitchen was one of the most rewarding parts of the journey: “The cabinets arrived pre-assembled and fit perfectly according to the drawings.”

The Finished Kitchen

Natural walnut cabinetry brings warmth to the room, while graphite finishes provide contrast and definition. The island has become the heart of the home—not simply as a place to prepare meals, but where conversations begin, homework gets done, and friends naturally gather.
