Design challenges & solutions
Expanding the space:
The homeowners wanted a clean, open kitchen without traditional upper cabinets, creating a lighter and more architectural feel while keeping the focus on the home's large windows and natural surroundings. The challenge was providing sufficient storage within a streamlined, handleless design. To maximize functionality, we concentrated storage in the lower cabinetry and tall units, using deep drawers throughout the window wall instead of standard base cabinets. Drawers provide easier access and greater storage efficiency, making everyday items more organized and accessible. Integrated appliances and touch-to-open cabinetry further enhance the minimalist aesthetic, allowing the warm oak finish and simple lines of the kitchen to remain the focal point. The result is a space that feels open and uncluttered while delivering the storage capacity expected from a modern family kitchen.
